MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
Mindfulness meditation can be a great adjunct to therapy. It has been described as relationship training with oneself. Through training and practice in paying attention to the present moment it's possible to develop enough awareness to choose to respond thoughtfully rather than react self-destructively. Knowing yourself intimately and accepting yourself as you are can help you refrain from projecting disavowed parts of yourself onto others. As a result, your relationships can be less distorted and you can remain in closer, more real contact with those you love. Mindfulness is also a highly effective tool in managing worries, obsessions and ruminations.
