INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

All of our practitioners provide individual therapy. We bring different backgrounds and orientations to our work. We each tailor our treatments to meet people's unique personal histories and needs and work collaboratively in developing treatment goals. We work with very young children up through geriatric clients, providing short term, targeted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, panic and OCD as well as long term treatment aimed at resolving inner conflicts and recurrent, self defeating patterns.

Recent developments in neurobiology suggest that psychotherapy may actually change brain structure. Repeated positive experiences with the therapist can be expanded into other relationships. Psychotherapy can help you develop empathy for yourself and others and can teach you to soothe yourself and allow yourself to be soothed by others. It can help you learn to respond flexibly to difficult situations and to consider options before you react.
